John Connellan graduated with a BA, LLB from the National University of Ireland, Galway, in 2010 and subsequently qualified as a Barrister of Law and was called to the Bar in the Michaelmas term of 2011. John was later admitted to the role of solicitors in Ireland in the Michaelmas term of 2021 practicing in renowned Personal Injuries and Medical Negligence litigation firm in Dublin.
John has 11 years of experience acting primarily in Plaintiff litigation in the District, Circuit and High Courts. John has acted in many high value and catastrophic Personal Injuries actions including, inter alia, road traffic accidents, accidents at work and slip and falls.
John has particular experience and a passion for complex medical negligence litigation including birth injury (cerebral palsy and brain injury), cancer misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis, fatal injuries (including coroner inquests), eye injuries, dental negligence, G.P. negligence and surgical negligence claims.
John also has a keen interest in Sports Law and has completed the Law Society Diploma in Sports Law. John provides legal support in the following areas of Sports Law: –

John is an accredited Mediator with the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland and has acted as a mediator in various civil disputes.
John is a member of the Midlands Bar Association. John is a keen sportsman and is a former intercounty footballer with Westmeath and volunteers extensively with his local club, Athlone GAA.
